In spite of tough economic times in our state, YSPP has continued to hang on to a small amount of government funding from the Department of Health. So far, we’ve escaped reductions that the Governor had to make to balance the budget. During the 2011 Legislative session we worked hard to maintain our level of funding ($116,000 annually) in the state budget for fiscal years 2012-2013.

The King County Mental Illness and Drug Dependency Plan in partnership with the King County Mental Health, Chemical Abuse and Dependency Services Division is currently funding several YSPP projects in King County. They have contracted with us to provide ASIST and safeTALK workshops to anyone who lives or works in King County. They also are supporting teacher and parent educational presentations in King County schools as well as technical assistance for crisis response planning.

Thanks to grants from the Women Helping Women Fund and the Empire Health Foundation we provided Spokane County with services in schools and community organizations. Our contractors are also training volunteers to conduct suicide awareness presentations in local businesses.

We deeply appreciate the collaboration of our supporters in 2010-2011 who make it possible for YSPP to provide suicide prevention tools and resources:
