Suicide Prevention Week and the Walk For
Life 2003
Suicide Prevention Week is a national event to raise awareness about
suicide and suicidal behaviors and to celebrate the efforts of all
who are working to prevent suicide. Annual events are held in King,
Kitsap, Pacific, Yakima and Spokane counties. YSPP co-sponsors the
annual Walk for Life in Seattle, featuring speakers, volunteer teens,
resources for survivors, refreshments and entertainment.
2003 Walk for Life
Sunday, May 4 - King County Walk for Life begins at
the Center for Wooden Boats, to the Seattle Center House
Stage
Thursday, May 8 - Spokane held a candlelight vigil
at Franklin Park.
Saturday, May 10 - Kitsap County walk left from
the gazebo in Silverdale.
Wednesday, May 14 - Yakima held a walk on the Yakima
Greenway, culminating in Sarg Hubbard Park.
